So I read up on a bunch of film festivals and only found one that accepts horror Web Series. The rest and by that I mean the other two, did not have a horror category. I did find the Streamy awards and of course the Webby's, but we were too late for an entry. There is always next year, and to tell you the truth I didn't think we were ready for the big ones just yet. I have received a lot of positive feedback on part five and our fans love where the story is going and the improvements we've made. So now I am on the hunt for additional marketing methods. The research that I've done so far has not been to promising. After reading numerous blogs I'm under the impression that most Woovie makers are having a hard time getting viewers and making money from their series. Even the shows with a large audience are all having difficulty making money. I'm certain the economy has a little to do with an advertiser's willingness to spend ad dollars on this new type of media, but with time things will change, we just have to be patient. I envision that this is what television must have started like. I'm sure in the early years it had few viewers, it was hard to monetize and producers had no one to look to for advice. Basically everyone who's doing this is experiencing the same things the rest of us are. It is my feeling though that those that stick with it will be able to capitalize when Web Series and Woovie Makers become the norm.
