  • Just finished my first edit on the script. I thought the edits I made in the margins would only take a short time to type... Wrong. Four and a half hours later. I'm ready to pass the script off to another set of eyes.

Part 5 Second Half

Published in Untagged  by Lance Fischer Print PDF

Yesterday we shot the second half of "part 5". We shot at Los Playas in Bell Ca, thanks again to Dalay for allowing us to use her restaurant.
We shot the comic photos first thing in the morning then got right into the actual shoot.

About two hours earlier I began to apply Mari's makeup and latex wounds. I am by no means an expert in either. But with the help of the Internet and a bunch of Youtube how to videos I was able to create a passable dead chick.

Three weeks ago I purchased a Ben Nye makeup kit, and some additional liquid latex off of Ebay and began to practice. If your into all creative stuff it can be kind of fun to try your hands at this art form, Anyway I'm getting off track.

I first applied the latex, then used some tissue for the hanging skin. To speed up the dry process I used a hair dryer. Once dry I began applying some white cream makeup for the dead look, then used the bruise wheel to color the wounds and create some nice scab effects. The whole process took around and hour and a half, thankfully Mari was very patient. My goal is to gradually increase her wounds overtime to so her spirit form will reflect her rotting corpse.

I'm looking for some short weekend classes that might help in my makeup skills but have found none at this point. When your shooting on a shoestring budget, you have to find ways to cut corners and the best way is to learn to do things yourself.

As you can tell from the photos, we had a lot of fun. The cast and crew are always great to work with, and like I always say, you can't make it without them so be nice and hopefully the experience and fun atmosphere will keep them coming back.

Once again thanks Fonz for all your help, you're the glue !!!!!
