I began editing Part 5 a couple of weeks ago, but today I really had time to focus my attention on it. I always have to put the comic out first, so that took priority the last couple of weeks. The reduced shooting schedule made it a lot easier to edit. Instead of eight tapes to go over, I only had four. The schedule also allowed me to concentrate of quality as opposed to quantity. I know part five isn't ground breaking, but you can definitely notice improvement over part 1.
The extra time also allowed me to shoot a lot of different takes and this made it so easy to edit. In the past, I would begin to edit and find that I only had one or two good takes to choose from. This time I had more than I needed. So here is my bit of advice to those of you out there doing your own productions, shoot way more than you need. If you don't need the extra footage it's no big deal, but if you do need it and don't have, you're screwed.
The electric chair kill scene looks great in my opinion, not that my opinion matters that much to the audience. But I think our fans (Yes we do have them), will love what we've done. I think that the kill scene really introduces the psychotic killer nature of the Drizzet Family and will make people come back for more. I am still editing and it will be a couple of weeks or so until part five is released. As usual, those members of our WeEvil.TV community will be the first to know when we post the newest part.
